Oct. 19-22: South Texas College Theatre presents the Turn of the Screw at the STC Cooper Center, 3201 W. Pecan Ave, McAllen. Showtime is 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. General Admission tickets are $5 and can be purchased one hour before the performance at the box office.

Oct. 20, 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29: Juarez-Lincoln HS Presents Beauty and the Beast at the Alejandro “Alex” H. Saenz Performing Arts Center, 604 N. Coyote Dr., La Joya. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. on Oct. 20, 21, 27& 28. There will also be afternoon performances at 2 p.m. Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29. Oct. 22:  UTRGV presents its Faculty Artist Series featuring cellist Tido Janssen and pianist on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. at the Edinburg Performing Arts Complex, located at 1201 W. University Dr. in Edinburg. The event is free and open to the public.

Oct. 24:  UTRGV presents its Master Chorale Student Ensemble Series at 7 p.m. at the TSC Arts Center, 80 Fort Brown St., Brownsville. There will be a pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5.

Nov. 4:  The Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center Scenic Arts Festival on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. Live art demonstrations, including pottery making, wool spinning and weaving, glass blowing, quilting, and more. There will be live music, poetry readings, and live performances, including a performance by the Colibri Children’s Choir. This is a free event. Nov. 8-12: The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s department of theatre will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare on the main stage. Directed by Kent Smither.
