Nov. 8-12:  The 24th annual RGV Birding Festival will be held Nov. 8-12 at the Municipal Auditorium, 1204 Fair Park Blvd., Harlingen. $25 registration fee to participate then different fees based on workshop, seminar or field trip. Nov. 8-12: The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s department of theatre will perform “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on the main stage. Nov 9: Quinta Mazatlan presentation on identification and specialized adaptation of killer bees at 6 p.m. Special guest, Luis Slayton, will be at Quinta Mazatlan, 600 Sunset Dr., McAllen to teach attendees how to “Bee Safe, Bee Smart and Bee Strong” while dealing with killer bees. Nov. 10-12: Palmview High School's Interact Theater and Lobo Choir will present the Broadway musical Hairspray Nov. 10-12 at the Alejandro “Alex” H. Saenz Performing Arts Center, 604 N. Coyote St., La Joya. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12. Tickets are $7. Nov. 11: Honoring the U.S. military’s service to their country, the City of San Benito will host March of Veterans starting at 8:50 a.m. Veterans and family members are invited to march down Sam Houston Street with a police escort to the San Benito Veterans War Memorial site (Railroad Tracks and Rowson Street) for a ceremony paying tribute to our veterans who fought and died for their country. Nov. 14 and 21: The Upper Valley Art League (UVAL) hosts Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers member Jim Thalacker teaching how to make Christmas ornaments. All materials will be provided.
