Crosby Stills Nash Show is Hot

As the rec hall at Llano Grande reverberated with the sounds of 1960’s rock and the songs of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, the audience got into the music by singing along and applauding their favorites. Tribute group, CSNSongs, from New Jersey, took the audience back in time to Woodstock on Friday, Jan. 8 during a hot performance of the group, who got their start at the Woodstock Music Festival.

One member of the audience, Marilyn Buck, had been at Woodstock and heard Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young perform.

The Texans are performers with a purpose

The Valley’s Favorite Gospel Group, The Texans, will perform six dates during this season’s South Texas tour of the Lone Star Jubilee. And as a special treat for all who attend, Hee Haw’s famous super star, LuLu Roman, will be the show’s featured guest star.

The Texans were voted 2015 Gospel Group of the Year by Winter Texans who attended their shows last season, and they are two-time recipients of Branson’s Entertainer of the Year award. They will perform in The Lone Star Jubilee in the Valley Jan. 24-29, appearing at various churches.

Betty Rydell has new show for 2016 season

Where can one find “Dolly Parton,” Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette on the same stage? Why the Betty Rydell Show of course! Betty has worked up a new show that pays tribute to the three lady singers who were so popular in the 60’s and 70’s. She even has a new stage outfit that makes her look like Dolly. She sings three different medleys composed of the most popular songs of each of the three popular women country stars.

Fans who love her red dress act need not worry. That is included in the shows.

And of course, Betty has a one-person band, one instrument at a time. She plays banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, little piano, a horn and a melodica. She plays each equally well, the mark of a truly talented musician.

Her husband, Ed, too has worked up a new routine with new jokes and songs although he does old favorites upon request.

Freddie and Sheila introduce new show

Freddie and Sheila are now performing at various RV resorts all across the RGV with their all new show. Their final show of the season will be at Palmdale on Feb. 4, so don’t mess around and miss out on a good thing.

Freddie, on lead acoustic and electric guitar and vocals demonstrates his heritage by clogging while playing guitar.   He plays country, bluegrass and 60’s rock instrumentals and has spent his life learning the Chet Atkins style of guitar picking. Sheila, on vocals and rhythm guitar, sings classic country, folk, 50’s/60’s and yodels. Their new show proves to showcase their exceptional musicianship, singing and provide lots of laughs!

Get ready for some old-fashioned western style fun and entertainment as the Jackson Family from Las Vegas, better known as Mama’s Wranglers, head back to the Rio Grande Valley for another season entertaining Winter Texans. Those who attend their shows are in for some high-energy banjo pickin’, guitar playin’, fiddle fiddlin’, clog dancin’ fun.
