20131219 Brownsville Museum of Fine Art DSC 0512 EditThe Brownsville Museum of Fine Art is sponsoring its 45th annual International Art Show. More than 480 entries by renowned artists are on display. Three judges will decide the winners: Cesar Martinez of San Antonio, Angel Cabrales of El Paso, and Annie Moye of Atlanta, Georgia.

Prize money will be given awarded to the top artists and one submission will receive the prestigious Mayor’s Choice Award.

According to Museum Director Rene van Haaften, “For the first time this year there was an online call for artists, and the results are amazing. We have a truly international show with participants from all continents. A total of 240 artists have shipped 450 artworks. All artworks are for sale, so this is a wonderful opportunity to buy some great original artwork.”

The art show is currently on display and will be up until April 5. During the show, general admission will be 50 percent off the normal admission fee. For more information, call (956) 542-0941.

The Brownsville Museum of Fine Art is located in the Mitte Cultural District of Brownsville, across the street from the Gladys Porter Zoo.
