20170309 WEB QuintaMazatlanQuinta Mazatlan is hosting a Monarch Celebration Saturday, March 18, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Butterfly experts will be giving special monarch-themed presentations and will be on hand to answer questions from all ages. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the influence butterflies have on our ecosystems, will have the occasion to travel on Quinta’s Migration Path, create art, enjoy stories, costume characters, and face painting.

At the celebration, learn about the amazing 2,000-mile migration and the life cycle of the butterfly from Tony Henehan at 10 a.m., followed by an informative presentation with Sue Sill on her work in Mexico with landowners to save the forests where monarchs spend the winter. At noon, please join Carol Goolsby as she explains how to plant native milkweed for monarchs. Afterwards, learn how to design a butterfly garden with John Brush at 1 p.m.
