This new list has some other details, but still have Mission and McAllen in the top. Texas has 26 of the top 100 destinations on this new list. The previous survey had Brownsville in the top 10 as well. Because of the two cities being in the Rio Grande Valley, it also highlighted why the Rio Grande Valley, as a whole, is on the top of their list. Of course, average October to March temperatures were the number one reason with the Rio Grande Valley average temperature sitting at a cozy 67 degrees. Next was golf courses and health centers. According to the survey, there are around 22 golf courses in the area and an important number of health centers per 1,000 of the population – no less than 3.6. Other big things they looked at that helped the Valley area was average rent and internet speeds. Mission, as the survey says, took fourth because of its unbeatable quality of life and affordability.
