The Miss Alamo court members gathered around the tree during the ceremony and were joined by members of the City Commission. The mayor and commissioners greeted the crowd gathered at the park stage and thanked those who had participated in the parade and wished the audience a Merry Christmas. They were followed by groups of Guerra Elementary students entertaining with songs and dance on stage, much to the enjoyment of the paradegoers, especially parents of the kids.
