While in their search for just the right plants, garden nurseries have thanked them for their vision to create this habitat for the birds and butterflies of the area, she added. There are at least ten different bird feeders. There is even one that holds an orange and jelly for the birds that have a sweet tooth. “We have really begun to notice a lot more birds have taken an interest in the garden,” said Sutton. “We have also been successful in attracting the monarch butterflies as well,” Sutton continued. In late October, early November, plants that supports all phases of the Monarch life cycle were put in the garden. They saw immediate results. “We have been noticing a lot of monarch caterpillars, and have been able to watch their entire t r ans f o rma t i on in changing from a caterpillar to a chrysalis, and then finally the amazing butterfly.” It’s been so successful they will be starting the process of creating another bird and butterfly garden elsewhere in the park while still adding to the current one. “There is an amazing crew of sion, 5:30pm, Hosted by Don McGhghy.
