Let’s Travel! isn’t the only event we plan to attend this week, but definitely one of my favorites each year. We are eager for this year’s event to see who all the winners are – to see who our readers have chosen as their favorite Wintertainers™. Since we wait until the last minute to tally the results, we are often as surprised as you are. If you haven’t had the chance to get a ticket, there will be an opportunity to purchase at the door. The event starts at 1 p.m. at Mission Bell in Mission. Lunch is available from 12 to 1 p.m. It’s going to a rocking good time. Events coming up that you might be interested in are Charro Days, Mission Chamber’s Winter Texan Fiesta, the Rio Grande Valley Quilt Show, Fiesta Edinburg, and so much entertainment – in the parks and outside of the parks. Be sure to watch our calendars to learn more about these events and others. We will also run stories about events, post on our website, and sometimes mention them on our Facebook pages. If you don’t already follow us on Facebook, we have the Winter Texan Times, Valley Star Awards, Winter Texans and On the Rio. We use these to share items that aren’t always readily available when we go to press. Our website will also have news items that weren’t able to get into our print edition. Also, we have our weekly newsletter that features stories we have put online during the week. If you haven’t done so already, fill out the Winter Texan Survey that you can find online. February 23rd is the deadline to be entered for a chance to win a cash prize. We hope to see you out and about as we attend events throughout the week. If there is something you think we should know about, please send the information to news@wintertexantimes.com. We look forward to hearing from you! RAMBLINGS From pg. 1
