March 1 each year has been designated as Activity Appreciation Day, but we will celebrate on Wednesday, March 2. The Rio Grande Valley Activity Directors Association (RGVADA) will host an Appreciation Party for area activity directors at American Legion Hall, 1305 E. Jasmine, in McAllen, beginning at 11 a.m. on March 2. Lunch will be provided at noon along with door prizes and entertainment at 1 p.m. All activity directors are invited, but you need to RSVP at rgvada.org. If you would like to have a table at this event, contact Billie and she’ll get you all set up. Remember, your activity director is the heart of your park. While most of us are attending happy hours, swimming or looking for a new place to eat, they are busy keeping everything on an even keel. They work many, many hours that nobody realizes. Take some time to tell them they are loved and appreciated.
