Past attractions included a boot factory, Mozna Chocolate factory, holiday displays, art gallery, and the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle National Shrine. It is also a great opportunity to check out the local restaurants. In January, they had a tour of the Gelman Stained Glass Museum in San Juan. “It is home to the most comprehensive collection of stained-glass windows in the United States. Many were salvaged from deteriorating churches around the country.” It also has antique altars, baptismal fonts, statues, and more. It was an amazing and powerful experience as we learned of the artists and scenes depicted in the stained glass. Following the tour, we had an excellent lunch at the nearby Azure Bistro.
