Weslaco, TX 78596 (956)566-1157 CORPUS CHRISTI – On Friday, February 3, Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s annual Fiesta de los Niños will bring its signature combination of fun, food, and music to the American Bank Center Exhibit Hall. Driscoll Children’s Hospital is a special place that has offered hope and healing to children and families in South Texas for 70 years. Fiesta de los Niños is celebrating its 31st year of giving corporations, individuals, and the whole community a chance to join in its mission of getting kids back to being kids by providing better and more healthcare. On Wednesday, January 18, longtime title sponsor Flint Hills Resources representatives presented Driscoll Children’s Hospital a $90,000 check at a news conference to announce the event. “What started as a small barbecue in support of the Ada Wilson Hospital, Fiesta de los Niños has transformed into the most impactful fundraising event in the Coastal Bend. For the 31st consecutive year, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, with support from our founding partner, Flint Hills, has benefited in immeasurable ways,” said Sean Pieri, Vice President of Development and Marketing at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. “Since its inception, Fiesta has generated roughly $15M in donations – funds used to support medical staff, equipment, and facilities. Thank you to all our donors for making a noble and profound impact.” Presented by Flint Hills Resources, Fiesta de los Niños is Driscoll’s largest annual fundraising event. Each year, 100 percent of the net proceeds raised from the event directly benefits the hospital. In 2022, the 30th annual Fiesta de los Niños grossed almost $1,200,000 for equipment for Driscoll’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), including a mobile CT scanner, which will provide better care for Driscoll patients when and where it is needed most. Proceeds from the 2023 Fiesta de los Niños will provide a neuro navigation system to be used in cranial and neurological procedures, which facilitates the transformation of complex data to useful information, providing pin-point accuracy and efficacy. This technology allows surgeons to better visualize and plan the work they are doing and to be more efficient and precise during these delicate and complex surgical operations. This cutting-edge neuro navigation technology will enable the surgeons at Driscoll Children’s Hospital to provide the very latest in patient care and produce optimal outcomes for the children of South Texas. Guests at Fiesta de los Niños will enjoy the Live Auction, Silent/Bid Board Auctions, dinner, and entertainment by Texas country music artist Roger Creager. For tickets or for more information, call Driscoll’s Development Foundation at (361) 694-6401 or visit www. driscollchildrens.org/fiesta-de-los-ninos. The event will be held starting at 6:30 p.m. at the American Bank Center Exhibit Hall, 1901 N. Shoreline Blvd., in Corpus Christi. It will start with cocktails and silent/bid board auctions with dinner at 7, live auction at 8:15, and entertainment at 9:30.
