It’s Mission Chamber’s way of saying “Thank you” to the Winter Texans that make the Valley their home during the winter season. For several years the event has been held at the Mission Event Center, and at the Mission Chamber. This year, the event returns to its original location – the Leo Pena Placita Park in Downtown Mission (803 N. Conway). The event will be held on Friday, March 3 from 12 to 4 p.m. Doors open at 11 a.m. This year, you do not need meal tickets in advance, but you do need to arrive early so you can pick one up the day of the event. It is first come first served, so the first 1,000 attendees receive the free meal. Arrive when the doors open to receive your free meal ticket. As always, the event features great entertainment. This year’s Winter Texan Fiesta concert entertainment will be provided by The Night Howlers, Rick McEwen, Denim and Lace, and Bruce Boudreau. The Night Howlers are a three person rock band consisting of Rene Deanda-lead singer and drummer, David Trevino-bassist, and Arturo De Leon-guitar. With Denim and Lace you will see Vocalists Lu Wieland and John Thomas, and drummer Deb Nelson. Rick McEwen, who presents “The Gambler” show and more at WT parks, performs a little bit of rock, country, soul and blues. Bruce Boudreau is a solo bluegrass performer from Canada. While there is seating available in the amphitheater park, you are recommended to bring your own lawn chair for comfortable seating. The event will also feature vendors and an onsite bar. A new Discover Mission T-Shirt will be revealed and sold for $5. For more information on food, vendor or sponsorship opportunities, call (956) 5852727 or stop by the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce at 202 W. Tom Landry.
