Inside the time capsule were messages residents left about how the epidemic affected their lives – social distancing, not being able to visit a husband in the hospital, no gatherings, empty shelves at stores, and more nuances. One resident wrote a poem about the epidemic. Also included in the capsule were a face mask, hand sanitizer, a roll of toilet paper, a dollar bill folded into a T-shirt shape, and a Trump hat. Susan Thomas, Bit-O-Heaven activity director, read the contents to those in attendance. All of them remembering and agreeing with some of the statements said, or expressing sadness of the writer who said she was not able to see her husband because he had Alzheimer’s and was in the hospital, but she was looking forward to when she would be able to return to the Valley. Pictured with the contents of the time capsule are John Ramares, Ed and Kathy Hurley, Sharolyn Griesheim, Marsha and John Padron, Beverly Philpott, Cindy, Mari, Roxy , Scott (park manager), and Susan Thomas.
