Westgate Dr., Weslaco. Everyone is cordially invited to attend and be a part of this celebration honoring our Veterans. Included in the celebration will be a Navy Fighter Jet Flyover sponsored by WoodmenLife. This event is a partnership with Weslaco Rotary and Weslaco ISD. “We organize the Veterans Day Celebration to honor all Veterans for their service to our Country. Many paid the ultimate price so that we could have the freedom, liberty, and opportunities that we enjoy daily. Secondly, we want to teach our school children the meaning of Patriotism and Love for America” shared Robert Cisneros, Foundation Chair Rotary Club of Weslaco (32 years as a Rotarian). Weslaco Rotary Club holds Veterans celebration today The Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (LRGVDC) a 50s©(3) organization that serves Hidalgo, Cameron, and Willacy Counties, will be holding a VetFest on Thursday, November 16, at the Brownsville Event Center. The event is dedicated to honoring veterans, current service members, and their families. This event will celebrate the brave men and women who have served the county and sacrificed so much for our freedom. The goal for the event is to provide support by having resources and health screenings LRGVDC invites Veterans to VetFest Courtesy Photo and an opportunity to learn about organizations and businesses the support the veteran community. Last year the event had over 200 attendees. They were able to provide heaters, blankets, food, and other resources to the attendees. Over 3,000 veterans call Brownsville home, so they are preparing for a bigger turnout. In preparing for a larger turnout, the organization is also asking for donations of food, drinks, and entertainment for their veteran guests and their families. Your donation will not only help them put on a great event, but it will also make a meaningful impact on the lives of those veterans in attendance. The Brownsville Event Center is located at 1 Event Center, Paredes Line Rd.
