The campaign aims to shed light on the often-overlooked senior dogs in shelters and encourage the community to consider the unique benefits of adopting these intelligent and loving companions. While puppies are adorable and full of energy, senior dogs bring a wealth of experience, trained skills, and a calm demeanor to any home. They make wonderful friends, offering the perfect mix of companionship and tranquility. Many senior dogs are already housetrained and understand basic commands, making the transition into a new home smoother for both the pet and the adopter. Ollen, a 13-year-old canine resident at Palm Valley Animal Society, is a shining example of the spunky spirit senior dogs can bring into a household. Despite spending 90 days in our shelter, Ollen continues to exude vitality and zest for life. His story is a testament to the enduring love and joy senior dogs can bring to their forever homes. Palm Valley Animal Society invites the community to open their hearts and homes to senior dogs like Ollen during this special month. Adopting a senior dog not only provides a loving home for a deserving animal but also allows individuals to experience the unique bond that comes with adopting a wise and grateful companion. Adoption fees are waived for our senior companions.
