(PCT) is proud to continue presenting intimate concerts with local talent for entertainment and fundraising for the theater, which is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization since 2008. Since its inception, PCT has produced, non-stop, three to four main stage plays each year and basic acting workshops, with support from the City of Pharr. Recently the theater has incorporated music and comedy acts on their stage as another venue for local talent to perform. “The RGV’s population is not getting any smaller,” said long time PCTArtistic Director, Pedro Garcia. “On the contrary, it’s only growing, and there’s tons of talent in the RGV offering a wide range of art forms. PCT wants to present as much of it as possible. Although at this time we only have 55 great seats per show, it’s a treat seeing up and close, awesome performances.” Singer, Dave Williams, a native from McAllen, has been singing and playing bass and rhythm guitar, publicly, since 1963 when he was a freshman at McAllen High. He first started with a local group called Skid Row, formed by other youngsters like him, when he was invited by the group leader to sing. Just a little later he helped form a band called The Headstones that played rock and roll from the era including many original songs that he helped write and arrange. The Headstones had a large following as they toured around the valley. Then Dave formed a group called Seompi, where he shared lead vocals and played bass. Remaining Few was another band he got involved with in which he was the sole lead singer. Some of his influencers have been talented musicians like Pat Rockhill, Mitch Watkins, Billie Rowe, and Lance Woodburn. Dave will be setting up his Bose PA at the theater for this live show. Dave Williams to perform at PCT Alongside his recorded music tracks and playlist, he will sing to classic rock, classic country, and lots of other good stuff in between, plus original material including songs by: Roy Orbison, Johnny Rivers, Bobbie V, Paul Anka, America, Fine Young Cannibals, Tears for Fears, Tracey Lawrence, George Strait, and more. The opening act will feature 26-year-oldAaron Matthew Barrera, another valley native from McAllen. Accompanied with his guitar, Aaron will be singing original Folk, Pop and Covers. This will be his third musical performance with PCT. “I have a passion for the arts including musical theater, film and writing songs. I love the opportunity to present stories through songs to our local community and to visitors from all over. I’m grateful for so much support from family and friends,” added Barrera. There will be two shows held at the theater, located at 213 W Newcombe Ave. (formally Park Ave.), in Pharr on Friday, February 3, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 4, at 3 p.m. Open seating will begin 30 minutes before each show. A portion of the proceeds will benefit PCT. A limited snack bar will also be available, and the show lasts about two hours and 15 minutes including one short intermission.
