The production will run on February 22 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. and will include two matinees at 2 p.m. on February 24 and 25. The Thursday, February 22 evening performance will be interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL). Tickets sales for the February 22 performance will go towards the Dr. John F. Carroll Drama Scholarship. Through a generous donation from Carroll’s family, the Drama Department established a memorial scholarship in his name. The scholarship will award two Drama Majors for their merit in theatre. Each student can receive a scholarship up to $1,000 which is divided between fall and spring semesters. Performances will take place at STC’s Cooper Center for the Performing Arts Black Box Studio at 3200 W. Pecan Blvd. in McAllen. “The Little Prince” is about a lonely, little prince who journeys through the universe in search of enlightenment and finds the strange, narrow-minded world of grownups. General admission tickets cost $5. Tickets can be purchased online at www.southtexascollege.edu/go/ theatre. For additional information about the show, special accommodations or for group rates, call 956-8722301 or email jleal5@southtexascollege.edu. STC Theatre and Dance announces production “The Little Prince” The fourth annual South Texas Irish Fest (STXIF) will be held Saturday, February 24, from 12 to 7 p.m. It will be held at the Cambria Hotel (701 S. Ware Rd.) at McAllen Convention Center, with gorgeous facilities, an on-site restaurant and bar, a discounted room rate for visitors, and plentiful parking close to all the amenities. There will be a vendor market, featured dishes and drinks, whiskey tasting, all-day entertainment, pop-up exhibits, and family activities. The fest also incorporates a traditional music session as an after-party- a social gathering of musicians, dancers, and spectators playing together in a relaxed setting. This exciting after-party session will also take place at the hotel, so it’s truly a one-stop shop. This is a family-friendly, free event for the entire community taking place both indoors and outdoors. STXIF is organized by McAllen Irish Arts and has grown significantly each year. This fest is a fiscally sponsored project by Fractured Atlas. Consider donating to this entirely free community event to ensure the continued expansion of worldclass performances, exciting exhibits and tastings, and inclusive facilities for families, artists, vendors, and above all making memories.
