He will also perform a Valentine Walk Through the Decades dance on Thursday, February 13 at the resort. Tim was born as the youngest of nine children and raised on a farm in the foothills of the volcano Mount St. Helens. He often jokes that his first audience was the cows he used to sing to on the farm. Since those days of farming, he’s always loved to sing and dreamed of someday taking his talent to Nashville and beyond. It was never so much to be a star, but to be able to help those in need because he could, something that was instilled in him by his parents. At the age of 20 he moved to Nashville and two years later fulfilled his dream of singing at the world-famous Grand Ole Opry. This opportunity opened the door to many things including landing a recording contract, two songs in the top 100 songs on the Music Row chart, as well as an invite to move to Branson, Missouri by Jerry Presley, Elvis Presley’s cousin. He has been performing in Branson for 24 years, performing over 100 shows a year. He had previously done a tribute show for Hank Williams. He has performed his Strait to Branson show for the last year. A patriot at heart, Hadler felt a connection with George Strait since he is a veteran, he loves his music and remembers working on the farm to the music. He said he does the entire show in character. Hadler said he has done a lot of research into the man George Strait and shares his stories on stage, just like George Strait does at his own concerts. He talks about his wife, his time in the service, and more, from a first-person point of view as if he was the man himself. Playing with Hadler will be Dave Perryman and The Country Revue. On bass will be Doug Cole; drums, Marty Fountain; steel, Ron Lykins, and Dave Perryman will be on vocals and rhythm guitar. Hadler says he enjoys coming to the Valley and meeting people from so many different places. He enjoys his time on the island and looks forward to having fun and a great time with everyone that comes out. Hadler has a project that is very near and dear to his heart – Gumi Camp USA. He never sings a show without mentioning the camp and inviting people to visit. The camp is a healing place for American vets. The 258-acre property sits in southeast Taney County, Missouri. Veterans that need healing and support may reside at the camp without cost to them and grow at their own pace. Programs offered include peerto-peer support groups, veteran outdoor expeditions, experiencing life on a working farm/ranch, animal therapy, and storytelling. To learn more about Tim or GUMI, log on to timhadler.com or gumicampusa.com. Holiday Inn Resort will be providing special $89 rates for those that come to the show and decide to stay the night. If you show your park pass, you can get an additional discount off ticket price. Tim Hadler. Courtesy photo

There were two categories - gross score and net score. If it was the first time playing in this tournament, the couples had to sign up for gross score as they haven’t had a handicap established. If they had a handicap, they could choose which category they wanted to play in. If you chose net score, you would subtract your handicap from your 18-hole score. They had two new winners this year. The winner of the lowest gross score runs the tournament the following year and receives a plaque which was donated by last year’s winners, Jim Monier and Darla Strait. The gross winners were Murray and Pat Pratt. The net score winners were Dan Streff and Bonnie Kadell. Photos submitted by Darla Strait. 7 WINTER TEXAN TIMES www.wintertexantimes.com JANUARY 29, 2025 Pat Davison and Tess bring their magic to the VSA Pat Davison and Tess are excited to be a part of the 2025 Valley Star Awards. They describe themselves as “the most fun show in the Valley.” The show includes comedy magic, juggling, audience participation and lots of laughs. Theu say the audience will laugh until they cry. Pat says, “I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and as such, I know how to ‘tickle the funny bones’ of the Winter Texan crowd.” They have been world-traveling professional entertainers for more than 50 years. More than 40 of those years have included bringing fun and laughs to the Winter Texan RV resorts. They have brought laughter and thrills to audiences of all kinds on international TV shows, cruise ships, theaters, shows like Ringling Brothers Circus, Big Apple Circus, The Harlem Globetrotters, Branson Theaters and many more. Pat began performing at the age of seven when his brother brought home a book of magic tricks from the library. He then earned a bachelor’s degree in speech and theater arts from the University of Minnesota, majoring in radio and television production. After graduation, he followed his youthful dream of running away with the circus and thus began his career in show business. Since 1968 his juggling, balancing, and magic acts have brought him to more than two dozen countries around the world to entertain audiences as small as one and as large as 50,000. He married his two-year long pen pal Marites in 1994. She, having a computer science degree, had never seen a live show, but she quickly became a part of it and earned a reputation as one of the theater world’s most accomplished showgirls and assistants. She is known best for her exotic beauty, glamorous smile, and elegant style. More of their national and international performing credits include the Steve Harvey’s Big Time, The Statler Brothers Show, The Best of Burlesque Comedy Revue, State Line Hotel and Casino, opening act for Grand Ole Opry Star Little Jimmy Dickens, and more shows and venues in the USA and Canada. Their shows are adaptable to virtually any venue, format or occasion. They specialize in helping you make your show or event memorable. Whether you need a five-minute act or a one-hour show – comedy, thrills, and skills – you will find it with Pat Davison and Tess’s Comedy Variety show. Be sure to come and see them at the Valley Star Awards on Wednesday, February 12. Pat Davison & Tess. Courtesy photo
