Celebrate National Coffee Day with Solum Coffee Roasters this Thursday September 29th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Quinta Mazatlán World Birding Center on the Nature Speaker Series. Did you ever wonder what exactly is strong coffee? Why coffees taste differently? In this special presentation discover some interesting facts like misconceptions about coffee, the making process, differences in flavor profiles, and a coffee product sale.
Founded by Eli Garza Jr. in early January 2022, Solum Coffee Roasters began as a nature-inspired roastery before opening its doors as a micro coffee shop on June 10th, 2022. The word "Solum" means "soil" in Latin and it helps reinforce their goal: "to emphasize how the coffee we all love and adore, is a gift from the grounds of the earth and so we should take better care of our environment if we hope to continue to reap its fruit" - Eli. The company's first step to eco-friendliness was the roaster itself, as it is a fully-electric coffee roaster.
The roastery was established in Palmview, Texas, which was chosen not only because of economics but also the potential influence on the area given that it would be the city's first craft-quality coffee facility. Achieving optimal flavor is the highest priority but it is done all in the name of creativity. Many experiments have taken place at Solum, but the most notable would be their whiskey-aged coffee beans. Their organic coffee comes from unique farms around the world as a means to bring interesting experiences to consumers.
