McAllen International Airport (MFE) announces its partnership with the Consulates of El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month with the Photography Exhibit, “Maya Heritage: Past, Present, Future”. An opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 17 at 10 a.m.
The exhibit is being hosted to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month by displaying the cultures from Central America and Mexico that enrich our community, while also highlighting McAllen International Airport’s role in global travel, connecting travelers to destinations worldwide, including Central America, Mexico, and major hubs across Texas.
“Maya Heritage: Past, Present, Future” photography exhibit will be on display from Tuesday, September 17, 2024 through Thursday, October 17, 2024 in the airport lobby. The art exhibit depicts symbolic elements, such as archaeological sites, ceremonies, clothing, and food that weave threads of Mayan tradition into modern Hispanic society.
