Nolana Blvd., in Pharr. The Carvers meet weekly on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. through March. Everyone is welcome to come and visit and join the club. Lakewood RV holding fundraiser Submitted by Donna Wright Winter in South Texas is anticipated this time of year. As Winter Texan residents are returning to the Valley for the winter, here at Lakewood RV Resort that means time to prepare for our 29th Christmas for the Children project. We are providing Christmas for more than fifteen less fortunate families from a local elementary, where many of our Lakewood RV Resort Winter Texans spend time mentoring the students over the years. This all started with our Worship Committee several years ago. Our fundraisers for this project have included a Soup for the Needy Luncheon and Bake Sale and a Dance. Currently we are holding a Quilt Raffle and Wood Carving Raffles. One king size quilt will be raffled off. The quilt has been designed by our quilting ladies. One of our resort wood carving residents has carved two items to be raffled as well. Raffle tickets are on sale now and you need not be present to win. Drawing is December 5th, 2022. On the day of the Christmas for the Children party, these families come to our RV Resort for fun with Santa and Mrs. Clause and meet our residents. They enjoy cookies, punch, fellowship and receive their groceries, gifts and a hand-made quilt for each child.
