Scheduled programs are free with park admission. On Saturday, December 3, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. the park will host their Festive Frontera Family Fun Day. Bentsen Bird Walks are held Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 8:30 a.m. The walk will not be held on December 25th or 30th. Birding 101 is held on Friday, December 2, at 9:30 a.m. The Resaca Vieja Trail Hike will be held on Saturday, December 10th and 17th, at 9:30 a.m. Reading with a Ranger will take place on Saturday, December 10 at 10:30 a.m. On Sunday, December 11, the park will have a Useful and Edible Plant Walk at 9:30 a.m. A Bentsen Easy Nature Walk will take place on Friday, December 16 at 9:30 a.m. On Thursday, December 8 at 7 p.m. a Night Skies program will be held. Painting for Beginners will be held on Sunday, December 18 at 9:30 a.m. These two require reservations. All programs will meet at the tram turnaround at the park headquarters unless otherwise specified. Please call ahead to confirm program schedule and details at (956) 584-9156. The dates are Monday, November 28th through Saturday, December 3rd. You can stop in at the rec hall any day between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to view the trees and to place your bid. The park is also offering some other holiday events. Tuesday, November 29th there will be a bake sale in the hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 30th Leslie Blasing will be entertaining from 7-9 p.m. Cost is $8 per person at the door. Thursday, December 1st there will be a salad lunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Saturday, December 3rd is a park breakfast from 7:30-8:45 a.m. Cost is $8 per person.
