On this day, Winter Texans will receive a special discounted admission rate of only $8 with proof of out-of-state residence. Winter Texans visiting the Zoo on this day will also receive a coupon to redeem a hot cup of coffee from the Oasis concession stand. New this year, guests can experience the thrill of the Soaring Eagle Zipline for an additional fee and meet the Zoo’s youngest residents, baby dama gazelles. To receive the discounted admission rate for Winter Texan Discount Day, guests must show proof of outof-state residence, such as a driver’s license or passport. The quilter’s raffle quilt is queen size measuring 85”x103” in red, black, and cream colors. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and are available from any of the Leisure World quilters or at the show. The drawing will be held at the end of the show and you do not need to be present to win. The quilters traditionally piece the top in the intervening year and finish it over the summer. In addition to making the raffle quilt, the quilters make comfort quilts for residents experiencing serious health problems and walker bags, clothing protectors (bibs) and lap quilts for the local veteran’s home.
