Do you know someone who has made a lasting impact in Edinburg? The City of Edinburg is asking its residents to nominate an individual of “extraordinary public service or exemplary contribution” ahead of the ‘Hometown of Heroes’ Half-Marathon, set for March 3, 2024

The public is invited to nominate an Edinburg resident who has gone above and beyond for the community. Someone who, even when no one is watching, serves tirelessly, shows kindness, and has a servant’s heart, big or small, that always puts their neighbors before themselves. It could be a teacher, first responder, military hero, athlete, or former city leader. Anyone can be nominated as long as they meet the criteria (which can be found at the link below). Thirteen community members will be selected to represent one mile of the half marathon at their respective mile markers

The nomination form can be downloaded on the City of Edinburg website at https://cityofedinburg.com/events_detail_T53_R947.php. The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2024. Nominations must be submitted to commandmedia@cityofedinburg.com

Those interested in participating in the Hometown of Heroes Half-Marathon can call the Parks and Recreation Department at (956) 381-5631 or register at www.ActiveEdinburg.com.
