The couple, who have been Winter Texans for the past five years, were joined by friends, Ernie and Marge Morris, from the same park. They have been Winter Texans for a dozen years. Both couples said they love parades and have been regularly to this parade in the past. The parade had a twist with the jolly old Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus leading it while seated on a trailer pulled by anAlamo Fire Department vehicle. A pom pom squad from Guerra Elementary finished their routine with a lift of three members on stage in Central Park. Alamo Mayor Diana Martinez handed over the honor of lighting the park’s large Christmas tree to Angela Ortiz, PSJA Memorial High School’s 2021 homecoming queen. Saturday’s nippy weather wasn’t much bother to Winter Texan couples, Ernie and Marge Morris (left) and Warren and Del Engrisch, who come down from Minnesota each year. They love parades.
