For All WinterTexans Red Hatters plan Festival of Tables The Valley Red Hatters are currently planning their Festival of Tables to be held on Wednesday, February 23. The event will be held at Trophy Gardens beginning at 10 a.m. The event is by advance sales only and space is limited. Tickets are $18 per person. RGV Red Hat Queen Council Members tickets should be purchased before February 3rd from Jan Bergman. Non-members must purchase their tickets before February 14th. Red Hat attire is required. Doors open at 10 a.m. with viewing of up to 40 decorated table settings. Lunch will be served at noon and hosted by Balli’s Catering. Entertainment at 1 p.m. will be presented by Jason Whorlow. This month, the group was able to visit the new Gelman Stained Glass Museum. Red Hatters recently went on a tour at the Gelman Stained Glass Museum as part of their monthly meeting/outing. ‘Valentines for Veterans’ Campaign begins Today, the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) kicked off its monthlong campaign to send Valentines cards to the nearly 1,000 residents of its nine State Veterans Homes. The VLB urges Texans to take part in this mission to show these courageous men and women that they are an integral part of our communities. “We are humbled and privileged to provide care to so many of our nation’s heroes,” said VLB Chairman George P. Bush. Texans interested in participating can mail Valentines to any of the nine State Veterans Homes. To ensure on time delivery, cards should be postmarked by no later than February 10th and should include “Valentines for Veterans” in the mailing address.
