The South Pole of Texas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. at 700 Convention Center Blvd., in McAllen, today, Wednesday, November 29. Entry is free before 6 p.m. The event will feature lights, entertainment, vendors and more. It is just the beginning of the South Pole festivities. South Padre Island will host their Christmas Tree Lighting with a welcome by the mayor beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the lighting follows at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, November 30. The event will be held at 321 Padre Blvd. The Annual Christmas Parde will be held on Friday, December 1 at 6 p.m. The parade will run on Padre Blvd. from Mars to Acapulco, east side of the medians only. Bring a beach chair and watch from the sidewalk. The Lighting of the Tree in Edinburg will be held at 6 p.m. at the Promenade Amphitheater on Thursday, November 30. They will also be hosting their Night of Lights Parade in downtown Edinburg at 7 p.m. the following day on Friday, December 1 beginning at Richard R. Flores Stadium.
