Celebrate the spirit of the season amidst an array of local artisans, a gallery talk from a guest curator, Gingerbread Challenge workshops, and the annual Christmas Tree Forest community exhibition. The Holiday Market at the Museum promises to be a haven for both art enthusiasts and holiday lovers. The Holiday Market at the Museum is included with a discounted general admission price of $1 and is free for IMAS Members. Attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to hear from the Guest Curator of the captivating exhibition, “Natural Expressions: Collected Landscapes from the IMAS Vault,” starting at 2 Ring in the Season at the IMAS Holiday Market Harlingen Concert Association will feature Jingle Belles on Tuesday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m. Jingle Belles will feature Jenuine Cello, aka Jen Mulhern, and the Valley’s very own Leslie Blasing. Mulhern is a captivating model of a modern one-woman band. Her live compositions take listeners on a road trip free from genre, saturated with an array of influences. With undercurrents of Bach, the Beatles and everything in between. Her music combines classically infused inspiration with raw textures to create a unique sound of layered soulful puzzle pieces. Equipped with a cello and a microphone, a looping pedal, a 6-string electric cello and knack for self-made beats, Jen Mulhern creates a symphony of spontaneous sound painting that tugs at the soul and awakens an ancient desire to howl at the moon. Leslie Blasing is a pleasure to watch with her energy, connection to the crowd, and her love of music. Her songs span seven decades of Country, Classic Rock, 50’s, 60’s and some of today’s music as well. South Padre Island has been her home for the past 25 years. She has won multiple awards including the Valley Star Awards Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Leslie continues to perform amazing concerts throughout South Texas, and they are always a hit.
