This cooler weather hasn’t made things not too pleasant outside, but it has been a nice change from the warm weather we had in December that was so not Christmas-like. Some days are pretty good though, and then others, like some recent days, are just too wet. I can stand the cold, for the most part, I just don’t like it as much when it is grouped with wind and wetness. The weather has not stopped people from holding events though. Although, some have moved indoors, we are seeing parks continuing with their activities and hearing they have had full crowds. It’s nice to see that everyone is getting to have some fun finally. I know everyone is still being careful, and we can’t always see your faces, but we can still see your smiles in your eyes. February and March are full of fun activities, so watch our paper about those events like Charro Days, the livestock show, expos, and more. The Kite Festival, that will be held next weekend, was featured last week, and as far as I can tell, the weather shouldn’t be too bad at all to see some beautiful kites flying up high. If you can’t attend any events, just get outdoors when you can. Birding, and sightings, are picking up throughout the Valley. There are so many parks to visit too – whether you want to visit a birding center, a nature trail, or go see some alligators and tortoises.
