January 13 – Join a park naturalist and observe the vast numbers of colorful butterflies that are attracted to the park’s gardens at Estero Llano Grande State Park at 1:30 p.m. Walk will be at a modest pace over flat terrain, pick the length you want to cover, one mile or two and half miles. January 14-30 – IMAS will have the exhibition The Whole World is a Garden by Monica Chang. The exhibit features sceneries along with a wide range of flowers and other elements of nature. The museum is located at the intersection of Bicentennial Way and Nolana Ave., 1900 W. Nolana, in McAllen. You’ll walk along the boardwalks and through the wetlands getting an up-close personal look at the shorebirds, herons, egrets, waterfowl, and woodland birds that reside at the park.
