Their latest project has been a beautiful butterfly garden. So far, their work has paid off as seen by the abundance of butterflies, birds, and even worms that have been found in the garden.

Robin Wright and Korine Leonard carefully selected plants, bushes, and trees – with the ultimate goal of attracting the beautiful birds and butterflies that the area is known for while also providing a relaxing spot for the guests to visit and enjoy.

“The complete vision and outcome, along with all the hard work, is all thanks to both of them,” said Cathy Sutton regional manager at Seven Oaks Resort. While in their search for just the right plants, garden nurseries have thanked them for their vision to create this habitat for the birds and butterflies of the area, she added.20211229 butterfly garden IMG 0944

There are at least ten different bird feeders. There is even one that holds an orange and jelly for the birds that have a sweet tooth.

“We have really begun to notice a lot more birds have taken an interest in the garden,” said Sutton.

“We have also been successful in attracting the monarch butterflies as well,” Sutton continued. In late October, early November, plants that supports all phases of the Monarch life cycle were put in the garden. They saw immediate results.

“We have been noticing a lot of monarch caterpillars, and have been able to watch their entire transformation in changing from a caterpillar to a chrysalis, and then finally the amazing butterfly.”

It’s been so successful they will be starting the process of creating another bird and butterfly garden elsewhere in the park while still adding to the current one.

“There is an amazing crew of workcampers here at Seven Oaks,” exclaimed Sutton. “Robin and Korine are a perfect example of how awesome all of our workcampers are.”

“We are so blessed to have them, and thankful for the work that they do for us.”

They have newly paved roads, a new pole barn, revitalized pool pavilion, and plans on revamping the dog park. Other updates and improvements are also planned throughout the park.

“An incredibly huge thank you to Robin and Korine for their hard work, dedication, and leadership in transforming some grass and a couple of trees into a beautiful bird and butterfly garden sanctuary that will be loved for, and by, many generations,” said Sutton.
