Bentsen-RGV State Park has a few February events to announce to residents. Scheduled programs are free with park admission. All programs meet at the tram turnaround at park headquarters unless otherwise specified
Bird walks continue every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Wild Wellness will be held on Friday, February 21, at 8:30 a.m. It does require a reservation with sign-up beginning on the first of the month
“Lots of wildlife activity happening as well as visitors out braving the cold, which I personally am enjoying” said Thomas Riddle, park interpreter
Riddle added that they are getting ready for Hawk Watch to begin in March among other events

The park grounds are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Park store is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is a tram transportation service from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and leaves from the headquarters on the hour.
