This season has been a fun one filled with activities, entertainment, and just a whole lot of fun. We have one more issue after this one and I wanted to spend some time giving some reminders in this issue for our readers and our advertisers.
If you did not get one of our Take Home issues from last week, we have plenty left at the office. Last week’s issue is one that we invite you to take back home with you. It is filled with stories about why you should visit the Rio Grande Valley and what the Valley has to offer our visitors. It’s a great introduction for those that don’t know much about the great Magic of the Valley. So, swing by the office and get a handful or more copies if you want to take some home and share with your friends.
While March 30 will be our last physical print issue for this season, we do still continue to publish items online. We still get news items that we think are good to share with our readers. We also know we have full-time converted Texans that benefit from that news. So be sure to visit our website often and sign up for our email newsletter so you can be the first to know when a new story has been posted.
Also, during the off season, we publish online classifieds. These are at a discounted rate. Rates can be found in this week’s issue and next week, and online. Be sure to take advantage of those rates and still advertise your stuff, even if you are up north.
Our summer projects are also starting. During our off-season we also put together the Rio Grande Valley Visitors Guide and the Rio Grande Valley Mobile Home and Park Directory. Advertising for these is available right now as well. Call Dan or Alma for pricing or email ads@wintertexantimes.com for more information.
And my last note – we are looking for contract writers for next season. We would love to have one of you write for us. Do you have writing and/or photography talents you would like to share? If so, we are looking for you. The Winter Texan Times is looking for Winter Texan writer-photographers with availability for one- or two-story assignments per week from November through March. If you are interested, please email me a writing and photography sample. Include your best contact number, where you plan to stay next season, and your preferred travel radius from your RGV home for story assignments. We will need coverage in the Upper, Mid and Lower Valley regions of Hidalgo and Cameron counties. Send your samples and any questions to carina@wintertexantimes.com.
For those leaving the Valley already – We wish you safe travels and look forward to seeing you next year. We have enjoyed your company and can’t wait for what the next season brings.
