Just about halfway through the month of January already. All of our favorite events are approaching fast. And we are already halfway through our season. Thirteen issues have been published, including this one, eleven issues are left. We still have so much to do and cover for you.
Again, we look forward to this time of year. It’s when we get busy attending events, going to dances and entertainment, and hanging out with you more. It doesn’t always feel like work when we are having fun enjoying time with you and seeing all the things that you do around the Valley.
Speaking of things to do in the Valley, have you checked out our Visitors Guide? If you haven’t yet, you should be able to find some copies at the Texas Travel Information Center in Harlingen, our office, or you can also find it on our website, www.wintertexantimes.com. It’s amazing the multitude of things this beautiful Valley has to offer.
There is everything from historic sites, museums, parks, nature centers, entertainment venues, golf courses, and so much more. While in Mission you can drive around town and find the butterfly statues. While in Mercedes, you have boot statues. Port Isabel has dolphins and South Padre Island has turtles and sandcastles. There’s never a dull moment with so many sites to see and things to do.
When the weather is good, which we have more good than bad in the Valley, take a walk at one of the nine birding centers spread out in the Valley – From Roma to South Padre Island. You also have a couple of state parks, a butterfly center, a salt lake, a turtle rescue center, and an alligator sanctuary.
There’s something for everyone.
If you find something we don’t have on our list, let us know so we can follow up and see if it will be of interest and maybe you’ll see it in the publication next year.
As always, we appreciate your feedback. We are here to give you the news that you want to see and read. So let us know what you are doing, what you want to see more of, by emailing us at news@wintertexantimes.com. And we love seeing your photos of your activities. Send us a photo, names of those pictured, where you are and maybe you’ll see it in an upcoming issue.
