February 6 – Quinta Mazatlán is honored to host select works from the poetry-art exhibit, Last Poet in the Woods. Join them for an opening reception, Thursday, February 6, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. to experience a plea to preserve the natural beauty left in our world by artist Reefka Schneider and poet Steven P. February 6-8 – The 29th Annual Winter Wildlife Expo will be held at the South Padre Island Birding Nature Center and Alligator Sanctuary. Admission is $10 per day. February 7-8 – Our Savior Lutheran Church will be holding their annual garage sale from 8 a.m. till noon on both days. The church is located at 1105 W. Fern Ave. in McAllen.
February 7-9, 14-16 – Celebrating 55 years, UTRGV Ballet Folklorico presents Alegria, a breathtaking display of traditional Mexican dance and music that will leave you mesmerized. General admission is $15, seniors are $10. The event will be held at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex, 1201 W. University Dr. Times are 7:30 p.m. with matinee performances on Sundays at 2 p.m.

February 8-25 – IMAS hosts their new exhibit “Paintings from Spanish America.” This exhibit features 16 masterworks that present a comprehensive panorama of artistic creativity from Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Cuba, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. A special reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. for IMAS members.
