Now-February 27 – Mission Historical Museum will have a quilt exhibit featuring works by talented local quilters offering visitors a unique opportunity to appreciate quilting as both an art form and a cultural expression. The exhibit will be open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. as well as every second Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. MHM is located at 200 E. Tom Landry. Now-February 28 – Upper Valley Art League’s local member artists will showcase diverse works of watercolors at the UVAL Gallery through the 28th. Opening reception is February 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public. UVAL is located at 921 E. 12th St., Mission.

February 26 – McAllen Community Concert Association will present Gentlemen’s Quartet (GQ). GQ is a modern, elegant take on some of the most famous music ever written, fusing together multiple genres in a perfect symphony of sophistication, virtuosity, and humor. Concert starts at 7:30 p.m., and the doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the McAllen Performing Arts Center. Single concert tickets range from $25 to $65 and are available at http://mcallenconcerts.com/.

February 27 – Harlingen Art Night will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. in Downtown Harlingen and A Street. It is held the last Friday of each month. Check out their Facebook for links to their call for artists signups.

February 28 – Firemen’s Park in McAllen will host the Growing Growers Farmers Market at 9 a.m. The park is located at 201 N. 1st St. The event is held every Saturday. 

February 28 – The Brownsville Farmers Market will be held at 9 a.m. at Linear Park, E. 6th St. and E. Ringgold St. The event is held every Saturday. 

February 28 – DHR Health will host a free seminar to help community members learn about new and advanced treatment options for Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor. The seminar will take place from 10 to 11:45 a.m. at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance, located at 118 Paseo del Prado in Edinburg. Doors open at 9:50 a.m.

February 28 – Edinburg Dance Theatre presents A Touch of Irish & Other Works at 6 p.m. at the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium, located at 200 N. 7th Ave. in Edinburg. Act 1 will feature excerpts from the ballet, "Paquita" and Act 2 will showcase traditional and contemporary Irish dances using the famous Irish dance shoes, Ghillies and Irish Hard Shoes.

March 1 – The Valley Nature Center is hosting an Orchid Society meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. The event is free to the public. The Valley Nature Center is located at 301 S. Border Ave., in Weslaco.
