December 1-30 – Christmas Extravaganza Christmas Tree Exhibit is open at Harlingen Arts and Heritage Museum. Approximately 40 Christmas trees and decorations are displayed inside the galleries, outside courtyards and museum buildings. December 1-31 – Christmas Around the World at the Weslaco Museum. The exhibit in the art gallery is a Christmas tree forest representing 50 countries. Local businesses, organizations, and citizens have sponsored the trees and decorated them with trinkets showing the country’s culture, traditions, and other interesting ways they celebrate the holidays. Now-January 1, 2023 – The Holiday Village in Brownsville will be on display at Dean Porter Park. It will be lit daily from 6 to 10 p.m. Entertainment will be held as well nearly every evening. Now – January 8, 2023 – The Museum of South Texas History will feature the Bishop Emeritus Raymundo Pena Nativity Scene Collection displaying 120 nativity scenes. MOSTH is located in downtown Edinburg at 200 North Closner Blvd. Call (956) 383-6911 For more information.

January 3 – The McAllen Public Library will hold a Basic Computer Class from 3 to 4 p.m. The class will focus on keyboard, mouse, and Microsoft Office Word. The library is located at 4001 N. 23rd St. Call (956) 681-3069 for more information.

January 8 – Manhattan lawyer Dannie Kohan is on trach according to her five-year plan --- then she wakes up. Join the Sunday Book Club as they discuss “In Five Years” by Rebecca Serle. February 7 – The McAllen Wind Ensemble will perform “Superheroes” at the McAllen Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the ticketmaster website or at the center. A season pass to all four of their concerts is $40. Ticket prices usually range from $7 to $17.

February 17 – The Valley Symphony Orchestra presents Out of this World – from larger-than-life heroes to the music of the cosmos, prepare for expanded horizons at the musical event for the whole family. March 24 – RGV favorite Mariachi Aztlan joins the Valley Symphony Orchestra for an evening of Latin-inspired works including selections from the opera Carmen for the Carmen Y Mas performance at 8 p.m. at the McAllen Performing Arts Centers.
