March 25 – The McAllen Public Library invites you to their second annual Community Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy free screening for blood glucose, BMI, blood pressure, hearing screens and sonography screens. Also take part in the Cooking with Spices and Herbs class at noon to learn how to cook with less sodium. Library is located at 4001 N. 23rd St.

March 25-26 – The Harlingen Flower Show will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Harlingen Cultural Arts Center. The event will feature floral designs and artistic crafts using live plants and objects from nature, created by garden club members, being showcased. Houseplants, native plants, and other items will be on sale. Admission is free. The center is located at 576 ’76 Drive, next door to the Harlingen Public Library. April 1 – The McAllen Monarch Festival will be held at Quinta Mazatlan from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults. Celebrate the event by wearing orange. There will be live music, dances, vendors, arts and crafts, special walks, a native plant sale, and food. Tickets are available at quintamazatlan.ticketleap.com.

April 2 – The McAllen Wind Ensemble will perform “Memories” at the McAllen Performing Arts Center at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the ticketmaster website or at the center. A season pass to all four of their concerts is $40. Ticket prices usually range from $7 to $17.
