Fun and informative programs for all ages are always available at Bentsen-RGV State Park. Scheduled programs are free with park admission. Reservations required for some programs (marked with an *). All programs will meet at the tram turnaround at park headquarters unless otherwise specified. Please call ahead to confirm program schedule and details at (956) 584-9156. Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park is located on 2800 South Bentsen Palm Drive in Mission, Texas.

Park Grounds Open 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; Park Store Open 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Tram Transportation Service 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thurs.– Sun.; Trams leave from HQ on the hour.

Hawk Watch – Daily in September and October @ Hawk Tower
Volunteers available from 9-11 a.m. weather permitting

Ranger Chats – Fridays 9/1, 8, and 15 @ 4 p.m.

Bird Walks – Saturdays 9/2, 9, and 16 @ 8:30 a.m.

*Hawk ID Workshop – Saturday 9/2 from 1 to 4 p.m. (Reservations now available)

*Fire-building 101 – Friday 9/8 @ 2 p.m.

*Jr. Ranger Club – Saturday 9/9 @ 2 p.m.

Be a B.O.S.S at the Bentsen Outdoor Skills Showcase on Saturday, September 23rd from 4-8 p.m. Entry fee into the park is waived during the day of the event.

Celebrate 100 Years of Texas State Parks with this special event.  See what there is to do at Bentsen and re-discover the outdoors.  Learn camping and fishing skills, try your hand at kayaking or archery, and experience outdoor wellness and nature activities.
