Some more cities are having festive holiday celebrations between now and December 7. Most of our Valley cities light up their city Christmas trees by December 7, and here is another group that are turning on their holiday lights soon.
The City of Port Isable will have their 16th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Hometown Holiday Street Parade on Saturday, December 7. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. It will start at Laguna Madre Youth Center and end at the Port Isabel Event and Cultural Center. The tree lighting will be held afterwards at 7 p.m. at Beulah Lee Park where there will be performances, vendors, Santa, and more.
The City of La Joya will have their Tree Lighting on Wednesday, December 4, at 6 p.m. at La Joya City Hall. Their Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 7 at 12 p.m. They will celebrate with the parade theme, The Magic of Christmas. It will be held along Leo Avenue. A Christmas Festival will be held after the event at La Joya Lions Municipal Park, 600 Coyote Drive.
The City of McAllen will have tree lighting on Friday, November 29 when they light up the South Pole Illuminated Festival at the McAllen Convention Center. Events begin at 5:30 p.m. You can purchase tickets to the events surrounding the festival and find out more information at www.southpoleoftexas.com.
McAllen will have their holiday parade on Saturday, December 7 at the McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2001 N. Bicentennial Blvd., before heading down its 1.5-mile parade route.
