Peak season at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park is winding down, but there are still a lot of things happening at the park. This month, the park is featuring some of their usual programs as well as a couple of special events.
On April 4th they will be having a Spring EGGstravaganza with several egg themed activities throughout the day. Visit the park for a celebration of springtime with egg-based programs. Events will begin at 10 a.m.
Then on April 23 through 26, the park will be winding down spring Hawk Watch with four days full of hawk themed of activities and presentations. The program is from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Hawk Tower, then stick around for an assortment of talks and activities featuring the park wild raptors.
Hawk watches are held daily at 9 a.m., weather permitting. An easy nature walk will be held on Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m.

Two Tram Tours will be held in April at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 3 and April 10. Also on Friday April 3, Wild Wellness will be at 9 a.m.
Archery Basics will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 10 a.m. A Speaker Series event will be held on Wednesday, April 15 at 6 p.m.
On Friday, April 17, a Night Ride will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Basic Birding Series class will be held on Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m. Fishing for Beginners will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 19.
Park grounds are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tram transportation service is available daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and leaves from the headquarters on the hour.
