It has been a pleasure to receive messages from park residents, activity directors, etc. the past few weeks about what you are doing and how much you are enjoying being back in the Valley.

We will try to feature some of these parks as we get information from them – and best of all – photos. Photos tell the story and give us a true insight in what you are doing at your park.

Please, if you send us a write up about your park, or a special person, include photos we can use for publication. Our readers love to see photos, and they love to see photos of themselves. It gives them something to smile about.

 

Several parks have said how they are welcoming their winter visitors back to their parks and how happy they are to see their Canadian visitors return.

This year’s Winter Texan season is looking bright, and we are ready for it.

La Floresta RV in Mercedes says their park is like one big family. They are welcoming residents nearly every day. While they have their golf course, they also have plenty of other activities for their visitors to enjoy.

Other parks, like Aladdin Villas, are making quilts right now for a colonia in Penitas. And another park is holding a fundraiser to give several families in their community a Christmas this year.

This is the type of news we love hearing.

On another note, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a lazy one, and I enjoyed that. After the hustle and bustle of the last few weeks, it was nice to just relax and be able to put the food in the oven and just sit and wait. It was just my husband, two kids and I. No one to entertain this year – so it was really quiet.

Sometimes, during those quieter holidays, it’s nice to reflect on those you miss, or past holiday memories. I always love to reminisce about the holidays of my childhood, or when my kids were much younger. These were times I miss because of the people that were there, people that have since passed away. It makes me think about my grandparents and the love that always filled their home.

If you take something with you through this holiday season, remember to be thankful for the memories. For the times you were able to relish the joy of those around you. For the times you spent with loved ones that aren’t here anymore.

Share the love. Share the thankfulness. Share yourself with those around you. Make the holiday season one to remember years from now.
