Desert Polynesia, new to the Valley, performed recently at the Valley Star Awards. While there were only two people performing with the group for this show, in the future, they will probably have more participants. The group plans to return next year and perform at one of the Showcase events.
Desert Polynesia provides authentic Polynesian music and dance for all audiences. Through their shows, you can experience true, traditional island sound, award-winning professional mea hula halau dances, lei greeters, Tahitian drums, and even the captivating Samoan Fire Knife Dance or Fire Poi Twirler.
Rick McEwen is taking it easy entertaining everywhere he goes. Whether he is singing, strumming his guitar, cracking jokes, or just telling some stories from his childhood, he is sure to entertain the crowd. Rick is genuine in all he does, has fun with his work, and enjoys making people happy.
Four groups of musicians will present a concert for the Valley on Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m. at The Center Church, located at 4801 N. Cage Boulevard in Pharr. The Sweet Adelines, Men of A-Chord, Senior Ambassadors, and the RGV Concert Band offer this combined concert.
McAllen Performing arts Center will host the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The musical will be playing at the McAllen Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, March 3.
The Valley Symphony Orchestra presents Indiana Jones and the Wild West, featuring music from Raiders of the Lost Ark and the classical Western film The Big Country, on Friday, February 28. The concert will feature Soloist and VSO Principal Trumpet Jared Broussard and be conducted by Maestro Peter Dabrowski.
Tom Wurth was a pleasure to hear and watch at last week’s Valley Star Awards. He has a resonating voice that adds to the country music he sings.
Jason Whorlow is in his fifth year entertaining Winter Texan. He has been nominated and won several awards during this time including Best Solo Variety Act of 2017 Valley Star Awards. As well as becoming in high demand for his extremely versatile, unique and interactive show.
