The Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas invites you to their 52nd Annual NDE DAA (Spring) Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas Homecoming Pow Wow on Saturday, March 5, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Alton Recreation Center, 349 Dawes Ave. in Alton. A Badger Run and Ceremony will be held prior to the event at 7:30 a.m. Dancing and presentations will be held throughout the day. The event is free.

Celebrate and experience American Indian culture, history, drumming, singing and dancing from tiny tots to seniors. Vendors will be selling Native food, art, crafts, jewelry, supplies and wares. There will also be raffles and cake walks. There is something for everyone.

Master of Ceremonies will be Alejandro Garcia Jr. (Lipan Apache) and Bob Woolery (Chickasaw/Cherokee) as arena director.

There will be a performance by Sayani, or Jorie and Christie West, at 12:30 p.m.

Gourd Dancing will be held at 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. A Grand Entry will be done at 1 and 7 p.m. At the grand opening ceremonies, dancers will follow the guard into the arena dressed in beautiful regalia. Closing ceremonies will begin at 9:30 p.m.
