The City of McAllen is inviting the community to participate in the 98th Annual Independence Day Celebration, presented by H-E-B Helping Here on Saturday, July 4, 2026 with an early morning 4K race, a patriotic program, immediately followed by the Main Street Parade and then Freedom Festival, a family-friendly festival held at Archer Park. Music, food, and games will be highlights of the events. The event will conclude with the H-E-B Concert in the Sky Fireworks Extravaganza.

The day will kick off with an Independence Day 4K Run starting at 7 a.m. The race is part of the McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Running Series and runners who complete all four of the races and a race on Marathon Day will receive a series medal. Registration information is available at www.mcallenmarathon.com. Awards in different age categories will be presented at the race.

A Patriotic Program will be held at Archer Park at 8 a.m. There will be a festival at Archer Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Fireworks show will take place at 9 p.m. at McAllen Municipal Park, 1921 N. Bicentennial Blvd., with food games and music from 6 to 10 p.m.
