McAllen Independence Day Celebration webThe City of McAllen is inviting the community to participate in the 98th Annual Independence Day Celebration, presented by H-E-B Helping Here on Saturday, July 4, 2026 with an early morning 4K race, a patriotic program, immediately followed by the Main Street Parade and then Freedom Festival, a family-friendly festival held at Archer Park. Music, food, and games will be highlights of the events. The event will conclude with the H-E-B Concert in the Sky Fireworks Extravaganza.

The parade will begin at McAllen City Hall on Houston Avenue and proceed north along Main Street to Beech Avenue. For more information, visit www.mcallenparks.net or follow the McAllen Parks & Recreation Department on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram @mcallenparks.

The day will kick off with an Independence Day 4K Run starting at 7 a.m. The race is part of the McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Running Series and runners who complete all four of the races and a race on Marathon Day will receive a series medal. Registration information is available at www.mcallenmarathon.com. Awards in different age categories will be presented at the race.

A Patriotic Program will be held at Archer Park at 8 a.m. There will be a festival at Archer Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Fireworks show will take place at 9 p.m. at McAllen Municipal Park, 1921 N. Bicentennial Blvd., with food games and music from 6 to 10 p.m.
