Seven Oaks Resort residents spent a lot of their time this season doing service in their community.
In December, residents participated in the “Laying of the Wreaths” at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery. A number of guests went over to help tie the ribbons on and others were there to help lay wreaths at the ceremony on Sat., December 13th.
“We have so many veterans in our park and were so honored to participate in this annual tradition for those who have sacrificed so much for our country!”
Seven Oaks was again able to provide Christmas gifts for some of the needy children at Leal Elementary School in Mission. They worked with the school counselor and adopted 14 families and over 30 children. The park has established a working relationship with the school having been invited to be honored at their Veteran’s Day program. They also brought 60 children over to the park to present their Christmas program to residents.
Fabric was donated and dog beds were made and donated to the Mission Animal Shelter.
Again, this season Seven Oaks has made and donated a number of handmade bibs, hats and blankets for the NICU babies at Mission Regional Hospital.
Our guests do such beautiful work and every piece is infused with love!
