Strong on Thursday, January 13th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a special discussion on birds of prey and reading/book signing of his most recent publication Stories from Texas, Some of Them are True, Vol. II on the Nature Speaker Series at Quinta Mazatlán.

William F. Strong has deep roots connected to Texas that can be traced back for generations. He grew up working on farms and ranches like his ancestors before him and has been inspired by the culture, lore, environment, and diversity of the Lone Star state. He shares this love of Texas through his impeccable storytelling. Strong is gifted with a voice made for radio and engages his audience as a regular Texas commentator on NPR stations in Texas via the Texas Standard Radio Network, he also writes for Texas Coop Power Magazine, is a Professor of Communication and Culture and a Fulbright Scholar at The University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley, and narrates stories for the Kevin Costner travel app, Hearhere.com

His most recent book, Stories from Texas, Some of Them are True, Vol. II, is the second book in his series and a collection of 70 stories from his popular radio series, Stories of Texas, on the Texas Standard Radio Network. The book is a combination of funny folklore, Texas icons, and urban legends celebrating his home state. A special appearance is made from some of his favorite Texas wildlife too. In this presentation Strong will pay tribute to the magnificent raptors that also call Texas home.
