Listings must come from the park and are to be submitted on the Winter Texan Times Parks Calendar Submission Form. Request this form from the Winter Texan Times office. Multiple activities may be submitted on the park’s letterhead, provided the same information is provided in the format of the Submission Form. The Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers will have their weekly Thursday get togethers at the Las Palmas Community Center, 1921 N. 25th St., in McAllen from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will meet every Thursday, excluding holidays, until the last Thursday in March 2026. RGV Concert Band Rehearsals

After the holidays, the RGV Concert Band will focus on the January through March concerts held in various 55+ parks. The group usually performs six concerts per year during the season. Now-February 27 – Mission Historical Museum will have a quilt exhibit featuring works by talented local quilters offering visitors a unique opportunity to appreciate quilting as both an art form and a cultural expression. The Men & Women of A Chord, a barbershop chorus group, is looking for new voices. Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers

The Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers will have their weekly Thursday get togethers at the Las Palmas Community Center, 1921 N. 25th St., in McAllen from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will meet every Thursday, excluding holidays, until the last Thursday in March 2026. RGV Concert Band Rehearsals

After the holidays, the RGV Concert Band will focus on the January through March concerts held in various 55+ parks. The group usually performs six concerts per year during the season. Now-February 2 – Pickleball on Padre will be held with a tournament and open play. There will be beginner lessons, fun games, Selkirk demos, vendors, giveaways and entertainment. Now-February 27 – Mission Historical Museum will have a quilt exhibit featuring works by talented local quilters offering visitors a unique opportunity to appreciate quilting as both an art form and a cultural expression. The exhibit will be open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. as well as every second Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. MHM is located at 200 E. Tom Landry. January 29 – Quinta Mazatlán invites the community to explore the hidden world of one of South Texas’ most fascinating and threatened species, the Texas Tortoise, from 6 to 7 p.m.

January 30-31 – Texas Citrus Fiesta will be hosting their Fun Fair, a free, two-day event filled with excitement for all ages at the Bentsen Palm Community Park, 1801 S. Inspiration Rd. There will be rides, games, entertainment and more fun. It’s free admission for the entire community.

Magic Valley P.E.O. Retirement Group

The Magic Valley P.E.O. Retirement Group will meet on Tuesday, January 27, at the Aurora House, 2646 W. 18th St, in Weslaco. The Kansas Day Celebration will be held on Tuesday, January 27. The event will be held at Peter Piper Pizza in Weslaco (3101 E. Expressway 83). Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers

The Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers will have their weekly Thursday get togethers at the Las Palmas Community Center, 1921 N. 25th St., in McAllen from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will meet every Thursday, excluding holidays, until the last Thursday in March 2026. RGV Concert Band Rehearsals

After the holidays, the RGV Concert Band will focus on the January through March concerts held in various 55+ parks. The group usually performs six concerts per year during the season. Now through February 27 – Mission Historical Museum will have a quilt exhibit featuring works by talented local quilters offering visitors a unique opportunity to appreciate quilting as both an art form and a cultural expression.
