November 4-6 – El Paseo Arts Foundation presents The Kids Left. The Dog Died. Now What. Aging gracefully is the final frontier in this musical about those facing a host of mid-life crises. Boasting a four-person cast, the show takes a humorous and heartfelt look at the day-to-day concerns of the over fifty “empty nester” crowd, including everything from retirement to divorce, AARP to dating, and plastic surgery to grand parenting. The show will be held at the South Padre Island Convention Center, 7355 Padre Blvd., from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $30.

November 5 – UTRGV Symphonic Winds performs at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex, 1201 W. University Drive, Edinburg, at 7 p.m. General admission is $6. Join them for an exciting band performance directed by Jerianne Larson.

November 6 – The UTRGV Wind Orchestra present A Night of Percussion, UTRGV Performing Arts Complex, 1201 W. University Drive. General admission is $6. The performance features UTRGV percussion faculty Dr. Mark Ramirez and Dr. Francis Favis on Ivan Trevino’s Run to the Light. It’s a thrilling concert showcasing their outstanding percussion faculty along with a consortium premiere of Gala Flagello’s Love and Nature and world premiere of Mat Campbell’s Centerpiece.

November 6-10 – The Annual Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival will be held at the Harlingen Convention Center, 701 Harlingen Heights Dr. Visit their website at www.rgvbf.org for a full list of events.

November 7 – Direct from Broadway, Mean Girls is the hilarious story of a naïve newbie who falls prey to a trio of lionized frenemies, Mean Girls “delivers with immense energy, a wicked sense of humor and joyful inside-jokery.” Show starts at 7 p.m. Visit experiencemcallen.com/broadway-in-mcallen or call the McAllen Performing Arts Center Box Office at (956) 681-3800.

November 7-9 – Sharyland High School’s Carpe Diem Players present the beloved musical Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim – a mashup of classic fairy tales woven together into a captivating and imaginative story. It will be held at Sharyland High School, 1216 N. Shary Rd. For more information, call (956) 580-5300.

November 7-10 – STC Theatre and Dance presents “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” by Edward Albee. Times will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Thursday show will include American Sign Language interpretation. Performances will take place at STC’s Cooper Center for the Performing Arts Main Stage Theater at 3200 W. Pecan Blvd. in McAllen.

November 8-10 – Harlingen Community Center presents Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling. Friday and Saturday showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday is a matinee time of 2:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $20 and sold online at www.hctvalleystars.org. Any remaining tickets can be purchased at the door on performance days. The box office opens one hour before curtain.

November 8 – Join UTRGV for Chopin and His Admirations, a piano recital featuring beautiful piano music by Frederic Chopin and the composers he admired, including J.S. Bach, Mozart, Liszt, and more. It will be held at UTRGV BMLSC 1.217 building, One W. University Blvd., in Brownsville. Admission is free.

November 9 – The Brownsville Farmers Market will be held at 9 a.m. at Linear Park, E. 6th St. and E. Ringgold St. The event is held every Saturday.

November 9 – Firemen’s Park in McAllen will host the Growing Growers Farmers Market at 9 a.m. The park is located at 201 N. 1st St. The event is held every Saturday.

November 9 – The McAllen Farmers Market will be held at the McAllen Public Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is held every Saturday. The library is located at 4001 N. 23rd St. For more information visit mcallenfarmersmarket.com.

November 16 – Harlingen hosts their Downtown at Sundown every third Saturday of the month from 6 to 10 p.m. The event features live music and more. It is held on Jackson Street in historic downtown Harlingen.

November 16 – Bentsen-RGV State Park presents Star Stories, which requires a reservation, at 6:30 p.m. Call ahead to confirm program schedule and details at (956) 584-9156. Bentsen-RGV State Park is located at 2800 South Bentsen Palm Dr., in Mission.
